Day one hundred and sixty three - a misty morning

My name is Sam and in April 2022 my home of 14 years went on the market. I had no idea where I was going to live or, owning only a small proportion of the equity in my house, how I was going to pay for it. The end of July 2022 found me moving to a 60ft narrow boat named Jemima.
I started this channel initially to document my move from a large, four bedroom, house to a very small space but also as a living diary of my life and what I am at each day in the hopes that it may inspire someone somewhere and, also, so that I can look back on my journey. In October 2022 I turned 50.
Living on a narrow boat was not a particular dream of mine but living off grid and near water is so Jemima is the perfect solution for me. However bi-locating to somewhere on mainland Europe has been a dream for many years and I am currently starting to realise that by spending some time each month in France, where I have the use of a house, and I may have the possibility to buy my own property there in the future. I also have a plan to convert a van into a mobile living space but I need to recover from renovating Jemima first.
I have two teenage daughters who attend a five day boarding (residential) school and split their spare time between me and their father so talk of them pops in and out of my videos.
